judi prendergastCNY Healing Arts is pleased to welcome, Judi Prendergast  A.F.A.A. certified; Zumba 1 & 2 certified Zumba has become a passion of Judi’s since 2009.  It was at her very first class that she participated in, that she became inspired to become a Zumba instructor.  After researching what needed to be done to become an instructor, she first became certified in Zumba in August of 2009.  In September of 2009, she passed the aerobics instructor certification exam through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, A.F.A.A. and has been on the path of fitness and instructing Zumba ever since.  Her passion for Zumba is expressed in her class through her high energy and zest for life.  After all, Zumba is about having fun, enjoying your “Zumba-mates” and getting a great work-out without realizing it!  Judi is very excited about joining the CNY family and is looking forward to all the experiences that are to come.

zumba logoZumba FAQ’s:

What is ZUMBA Fitness®?
ZUMBA Fitness is dance fitness based on international rythyms.  Salsa, Flamenco, Bellydance, Reggatone and more are incorporated into ZUMBA.

Do I need to know how to dance to ZUMBA?
Absolutely not!  ZUMBA is designed for everyone, every shape, every age.  Anyone can start a ZUMBA class and have fun!  ZUMBA is not limited to dancers, fitness fanatics or seniors.  All exercisers from beginner to advanced will enjoy the benefits of a ZUMBA class.

Is there any special equipment?
The only equipment you will need is your sneakers, a towel and water because you will sweat!  And have fun doing it!

How is ZUMBA different than any other exercise class?
Unlike other exercise classes, ZUMBA is a party!  Loud music, dancing and having fun while working out is what a ZUMBA class is all about!

What if I don’t know the steps to a dance?
If you don’t know the steps to a dance, fake it!  It’s all about having fun! (and a little work-out as well.)

How long do ZUMBA classes last?
Classes can be 45 minutes to 1 hour.  During that time, you can burn up to 500 calories or more, so be prepared to have some fun and to sweat!
