Do you see patterns in little ones you love? This family Yoga & Ayurveda event will be a creative and active experience to learn about your physical and emotional traits. Ayurveda originated in India more than 5,000 years ago and is the oldest continuously practiced health-care system in the world.

Asanas (Yoga postures), games and Pranayama (breathing) will be blended with Ayurvedic concepts of lifestyle and dietary practices to build Ojas/Immunity/Love.

Exposure to Yoga at an early age can help children learn about themselves and their relationships with others in a unique setting. Breath work, balance and partner games along with Ayurvedic teachings are designed to heighten adults’ mindfulness and children’s curiosity. A regular practice of Yoga blended with Ayurveda can improve immunity, overall health, concentration, bring out creativity, increase flexibility and strength, as well as help to balance emotions.

When an adult does Yoga with a child it encourages uplifting openness and consciousness to the ways we are continually growing. A deeper understanding of wellness and balance is cultivated when the wisdom of Ayurveda is blended with Yoga.

Little Kid Yoga & Ayurveda — 10:30am – 11:30am adults and children ages 2-5 (designed for parents/guardians to learn about themselves through their little one)

Big Kid Yoga & Ayurveda — 1:30pm – 2:30pm adults and children ages 6-15


Detailed Description for each Class Date:

– February 7th: What predominates in my elemental makeup (either air, fire, water, earth)? What Asanas and physical activities support my elemental makeup?

– March 14th: What are self-care practices for the 5 senses (sound, touch, sight, taste, smell) as well as Asanas & Pranayama (breathing practices) to support my elemental makeup and sensitivity to stimulation?

– April 11th: What are sattvic, rajasic and tamasic foods? What Asanas and activities are sattvic, rajasic and tamasic?

– May 2nd: What tastes (sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter, astringent) are best for my elemental makeup? What are the best times of day for physical movement, rest and nourishment?
