Yoga Brings Mind and Body Into Balance

Imagine having the time to relax, connect, and bring your mind and body into balance. During a time of radical hormonal change, your body chemistry can wreak havoc on your moods. Through yoga, your body releases chemicals into the bloodstream that bring you a sense of well-being and contentment. You will notice how things change and flow inside your body, learn relaxation and breathing techniques, and become grounded and gain awareness of your body and its strengths.

Yoga combines physical exercise, breathing, and relaxation to melt away stress and help the body’s systems function more regularly. We provide classes tailored to any level of fitness and health.

Belly Dance for Grace, Strength, Flexibility and Fun

The ancient art of belly dance combines fluid movement, sassy steps and sharp isolations. Each class includes a warmup and drills of basic moves and isolations, always with a focus on proper dance posture. The second half of class puts some basic steps together in different combinations, getting the body moving and deepening our understanding of dancing with the rhythm of the music. A cool-down completes each session, bringing the student back to her center.

This is a beginner’s class (though all are welcome) and the atmosphere is supportive and fun.

Belly Dancing moves most often focus on the hips, ribs and arms. The legs and torso are the powerhouse for these moves so please let the teacher know if you have any injuries, especially in the knees or back. Please wear loose, comfortable or stretchy clothing and be prepared to dance barefoot.

Zumba

When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring!
