Default Need some advice..

Hi All. I havent been on here in a while and wanted to post to give a quick update on my husband and see if anyone has any advice for us..

As many of you know my husband was diagnosed with congestive heart failure about 4 months after our last unsuccesful IVF.. So we had to stop treatment all together and have had to put things on hold for a while. He is slowly getting better and we have discussed that Spring of 2010 is when we need to make our "decision" on what to do about completing our family. : )

I just wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions for us, we are considering fertility again or possible adoption. The Adoption star is a great place, but I have looked into it and it is so frustrating to know that it will cost up to 20 K for us to complete our family. In hopes that I find a job, fertility may be an option to try a third IVF.. But I to am a bit frustrated again as I know it will cost out of pocket. Does anyone know of anyone or anything that we can possibly do that can help fund adoption or suggestions on the IVF battle again..

We like a lot of other couples just dont want to fear the fight of anxiety anymore and want our little bundle of joy. So thank you for listening to me and know that I think of you all and thank you for your support every day!!

Renee,

My husband and I just completed our homestudy and we're ready to adopt! We signed up with Adoption Star and their program is PHENOMENAL!! Remember, there are no BFN's(Big Fat Negatives) in Adoption...You WILL have a child! Plus, NY has the tax credit so you can receive up to $12,000 for three years depending on your expenses. For me, it was the easiest decision as I have always wanted to adopt since I was a little girl!! Plus, now that the paper process is finished, we can start fertility treatments, if we choose to, but we have something positive to focus on! The way we looked at it is, we can spend $5,000k(we have med coverage) and the chances of me miscarrying are high, or we can take that $5k and put it towards adoption....We have money in our flex spending account, so we do need to use it up with another IVF, however, after that we could care less about walking into CNY ever again!

Good luck! If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me! good luck!

Default Advice on the next step...

Hi!! thank you so much for emailing me. I do have a few more questions and have actually sent an email to adoption start just recently. They seem so nice and understanding.
We are waiting until at least March to make a decision as to what to do because my husband goes in for some more major testing in March and that marks one year since he was diagnosed with his heart failure. Just want to be sure everything is good with him before we move on..

I do appreciate very much that you emailed me and it is up to you but if there is any way I can have your email or you can email me at branag997@morrisville.edu that would be great!!

That is awesome news that you and your husband are moving on to adoption!!! I know that deep in my heart there are lots of babies out there who need the love!! U are both very special people for doing this.

Best wishes and thanks again! Ren B : )

Ren,

It was always Frank who pushed for us to continue with infertility treatments as I wanted to adopt a child since I was small. My mom was adopted and I saw how much her life was changed because of it. Anyway...we had just made the decision to adopt when the cycle worked for us, but if Frank can come around and realize that your heart will grow to any child, blood or not, you will discover the same thing. It is really up to you how much money you want to put into fighting for a pregnancy because either way you have a child, you will still be their mommy.

Default response to Samantha's

Hi there how are you? i need to send you a message on face book.
Thank you for emailing me back.. your babies are so adorable and growing growing growing : )

Brad and I have been talking more and more about adoption lately. I did recieve an email from Tracey at Kiltz's office today stating we should get a phone consult from Dr. Kiltz.
I am so scared I am going to hit my depression all over again because of everything. I feel that I am starting to now and just want some answers. Tracey said that CNY has some really good prices on IVF for the upcoming year but I dont know if we can swing the money right now.

Guess my thoughts are to wait till Spring when we find out how Brad is improving and then gather our thoughts and options. I completely understand and know that no matter how we get our baby it will be the most awesome news for us : )

Thanks for writing, take care and I will email you soon!!Ren : )

that's good that Dr. K will be doing a phone consult as I know you've been trying the cycles through your normal ob. I hope something works soon.

Good Luck, Renee. We were open to adoption but were worried about the money part of it...wishing you the best in your journey to mommyhood however that may be!
