Pregnancy can be a beautiful, and stressful time especially if you faced a challenge conceiving. It is normal to feel anxious and hesitant about this pregnancy, since you worked so hard to achieve it. Meditation is a great tool to cope with these reoccurring thoughts and concerns.
For a brief exercise, place yourself in a comfortable position, free of excessive noise and distraction. Close your eyes, and place your hands on your abdomen. Slow your breathing and increase the volume of air you inhale and exhale. Once your breathing has slowed, begin to imagine your little one, warm, safe, and happy right inside your uterus, just behind your hands. Picture your baby slowly moving and growing, welcoming the new changes with a smile. Now, on each exhale, either in your mind our out loud, softly whisper the words ‘I love you’. Continue your breathing and mantra for a few minutes, and with each breath send more love, warmth, and nourishment to your child. You are connected to your child. She/he can feel and hear you, and she/he knows you are there no matter what.
